All About Silo Construction

Cement silos are used for industrial storage of cement for mixing concrete and can be found both in landfills for concrete production and on construction sites. Static silos are typically located in landfills producing concrete, using traditional doses of dry mix mixed during transport to the construction site.

While wet mix batch depots can also have large static silos, such depots are becoming increasingly rare with the computerization of batches that allow mixing before shipment. You can also get information about silo construction through the web.

Cement silo type

Two types of cement silos are commonly used commercially, namely standing silos or low silos. Low silos are transported in the truck loading area and parked at the desired location. Standing mobile silos are familiar places, similar to the standard fixed silos seen in concrete landfills.

They are available in different capacities between 20 and 80 tonnes, generally simpler and less technically, these silos can be an efficient storage system.

Flexibility and cost

For concrete manufacturers who have multiple customers or who wish to expand their reach to medium to large-sized construction sites, finding a concrete silo is relatively easy. For one-off jobs that require silos, the easiest thing to do is to rent equipment.

If flexibility is required in the regular use of silos, buying from a reputable dealer or rental company can be a cost-effective solution. Generally, the equipment used by concrete equipment leasing companies is in good condition and some cases have a 12-month warranty.
